How do people actually use their computers?
Google Chromebooks are web-centric laptops that run Google's Chrome operating system (OS). Chrome OS is built around the Chrome browser, which runs web-based apps like Gmail and Google Docs. The Chromebook team wanted to better understand their user and explore ways to expand their market.
As a User Researcher, I crafted a research plan, designed a displacement experiment to simulate a “shop-along” in-field observation, lead 24 2-hour interviews and facilitated team discussions to translate user research findings into an actionable strategy. I also created, coded, and analyzed 3-part diary study for 50 participants, socialize findings in weekly client meetings, and delivered a reference report with raw data, insights, and recommendations.
